On Sept. 15, 2010, Mexico and people of Mexican descent everywhere celebrated the bicentennial of the country’s independence from Spain and the 100th anniversary of the Mexican revolution, the decade-long conflict that led to the establishment of the Mexican Constitution in 1917.One such celebration took place at the MacAllister Amphitheater in Garfield Park in Indianapolis.Festivities got under way at 4 p.m., and the party included colorful festoons, music and dancing led by Joaldy Yanez, an animated singer and dancer from Chicago who fashions himself as an imitator of premier singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel.
There are several shots of Joaldy below, although in one of them he’s barely visible between the two dancers closest to the camera. Photos also include a crafts fair. The agenda of the evening's entertainment concluded with a night of fireworks, which are shown in the "Fireworks" chapter.
