First and foremost is the pure enjoyment of what you're doing. Some of the others are the quest for improvement, learning, accomplishment, creativity ... and the satisfaction of composing something of substance that would not have come to pass without you having made the effort.

There are pluses for shooting with company and for doing solo shoots. With company, you have the benefit of brainstorming ideas, tactics and technique ... as well as the camaraderie, presuming you're with someone who is of sociable ilk. Those are good reasons to join a photo club; you can find support and people of like interests there.

Shooting alone, you have time to think or compose at leisure without worrying about being a drag on whomever else might be with you, especially if any of the others are on a timetable. Plus, when I talk to myself, there's no one around to hear how stupid I sound! I do both, and I enjoy the benefits of each.Joe Konzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15691673321843499755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923400600940995327.post-28258655673213488712011-03-04T18:56:26.955-05:002011-03-04T18:56:26.955-05:00What motivates you to go take pictures so often?
